Facing Life with a Heart of Wisdom

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” Psalm 90:12

At the heart of living our days here with wisdom, endurance, and hope is keeping a sound perspective on this life with respect to eternity. Surely our days are fleeting, but this does not mean that they are frivolous or meaningless; in fact, it means quite the opposite. This means that everything we do has profound meaning and eternal significance, but it also means that it is all temporal and fading, whether we face pain and suffering that we fear being crushed by, or seasons of success that tempt to swell us with pride. It all ends, but how we face it matters.

Grace and peace,

The Power of Our Testimony

“Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: ‘Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has done down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.”

Revelations 12:10-12

Disclaimer: I am no Revelations expert! I have not studied this cryptic book in depth and I am very much mystified by its visions and prophecies. But I think this key passage is a strikingly clear and important message with some direct and unmistakable implications that are crucial for the way we live our lives today as Christians in an unsaved world.
